Facing Your Fears
I often find myself frozen in fear, unable to budge and move in the direction my heart desires out of self doubt. Especially when changing career paths, launching a business, and becoming a health coach.
So many doubts came into my mind...
“Will I be successful?”
“Am I making a mistake?”
“What will everyone think?”
Silly me worrying and letting my mind run wild. When I have these doubts it’s because I am letting fear and anxiety drive my bus. It wasn’t until I decided to be compassionate towards my anxiety and fear that they subsided and I was back in the driver’s seat.
I have noticed that most of my fears come from a place of my instincts wanting to protect me from the pain of failure or judgment. We all experience these feelings especially in times of transformation. It isn’t easy to be vulnerable. It isn’t easy to push yourself to rise to the next level. It isn’t easy to stay consistent in your practices.
A friend once told me that the best way to know you are growing is when you feel the most uncomfortable. She encouraged me to remain uncomfortable knowing that through the toughest experiences are when we grow the most.
The things that truly rivet our soul will never be the easy option. The path to a vibrant life is full of scary decisions but it is in walking through the flames of fear that we can emerge solid gold. The next time you are feeling this way ask yourself what your fears are telling you, is it rational? Is your mind trying to protect you, and what from? Is it worth the risk?
If you decide to take the jump with bravery, know that their is never failure, only lessons learned. You will be wiser and stronger on the other side no matter the outcome.
To the uncomfortable path.
Love + light,
Xx Jordan
