Meditation

I like to think of meditation as mental hygiene.

It’s my time to “declutter” my thoughts, focus on the present, and be still. By creating a daily mindfulness practice I have opened myself up to an entirely new way of living. Through meditation I have been able to cultivate self awareness, increased patience, and an easy flow of creativity. It is in these moments that I carve out for myself that I am able to gain new perspective on situations.

At first, I deeply struggled with just “sitting in silence” it felt extremely weird and uncomfortable. What am I doing? What is the point of this? I asked myself these questions constantly at first. It wasn’t until I committed to learning about meditation and the benefits that I was truly able to see the difference in my mind, body, and soul. It immensely helped alleviate any negative emotions and truly help me get more in tune with my inner voice. I started to convict myself to aligning with who I want to become. This is when everything shifted and I realized the importance of maintaining a habitual practice.

It’s difficult to explain the the experience of meditation over a consistent period of time but in my experience I noticed the amount of clarity, decisiveness, and emotional control I gained. It’s such a simply thing to gift yourself 10 minutes of silence each day to just be.

I am so grateful for my journey with meditation. I hope to share and inspire you to be curious about how to grow your intuition. Linking this article below that goes in depth on the benefits of meditation and the affects on your brain.

Love + light,
